Prague Quadrennial - Inside the Exposition - This photo is a wide angle view of one of the side halls at the Industrial Palace at the Prague Quadrennial. The two side halls held the main national exhibits of the 60 or so countries participating in the Prague Quadrennial. MORE

Prague Quadrennial - United States Student Exhibition - In a connected exhibition hall, also quite large, student work from universities around the world were displayed in country exhibits parallel to the exhibits in the main halls of the country professional designers. Depicted here is a view of the USA Student exhibit.  MORE

Prague Quadrennial - Belgium Student Exhibition - Each country exhibit had its own theme and character. This one I thought to be quite cleverly designed. Each of the rings could rotate 360 degrees to reveal new designs as the visitor would walk through the rings. In the picture you can see some of the student visitors having a theatrical moment. MORE

Prague Quadrennial - Czech National Exhibition - This was one of the most unique approaches. It was designed by the Foreman Brothers (Sons of Milos Foreman) and was a totally interactive recreation of a rural 19th century carnival. Here you see a magic mirror that applies makeup to those who sit before it. This exhibit was voted "best" by the children visitors to PQ MORE

Prague Quadrennial - Another Foreman Brothers Project - This whimsical display was in honor of the Foreman Brothers' "Mystery Boat Theatre" moored on the river nearby. The figures all animate by levers and wheels that exhibit visitors operate themselves. What fun! MORE

Prague Quadrennial - Taiwan Day Celebration - Each day a few of the countries would celebrate their culture with all sorts of great activities. This photo depicts part of the Taiwan Day Celebration. MORE

Anne Bogart Pays a Visit to The Prague Quadrennial - There were of course scores of dignitaries, many presenting workshops and signing books. MORE

The Bird Parade Through Prague - This was one of the most exciting activities where participants of the Prague Quadrennial and Scenofest paraded in elaborate costume through the streets of Prague. Here the parade passes in front of The Estates Theatre where Mozart premiered the opera, Don Giovanni  MORE

Stilt Walker at the Prague Quadrennial / Scenofest Bird Parade - Stilt walkers of all types were all over the place actually but had a particularly great time in the parade, though how they managed on the mostly coble-stone paving is a mystery to me. MORE

Lighting up the City for the Prague Quadrennial and Scenofest - Cindy Limauro and her team of Architectural Lighting Workshop Participants "lit up" various parts of the city. Here you see their treatment of one of Pragues's many magnificent bridges.  MORE

Soundscape at the Prague Quadrennial - As surprises go, this was one of my favorites. Speak into any one of a number of holes in the boxes and out will come your words/sounds in incredibly transmogrified ways!  Kids loved it, as did older kids. MORE

Another of the Many Performances Presented in and Around the Prague Quadrennial - This was presented by a Czech street circus/comedia company presenting "A Clown's Funeral. Here they enter from a Noah's Arc perched atop a flatbed truck! MORE
